Emilie Steckenborn has lived in Shanghai, China for over seven years and is currently the Head of Education for Asia& MEIA at Treasury Wine Estates. Emilie has cultivated her palate through gaining Diploma and Certified Educator from WSET, Certified Sommelier from CMS and HEG Certificate from Cordon Bleu. She has worked with numerous top beverage brands and hotel groups to develop and train their front line staff across China. She currently serves as China Eastern Airlines Official Wine Consultant for First and Business Class.
As Head of Education for Asia, Middle East and Africa, at Treasury Wine Estate, Emilie Steckenborn seeks to share her passion for wine with enthusiasts and professionals in various markets and countries. Her knowledge and global experience was gained from wine studies in the Niagara wine region of Canada, UC Davis in California and McLaren Vale, Australia.
To further cultivate her passion for gastronomy, she completed the Cordon Bleu Paris and Université de Reims fine dining and gastronomy program. Emilie serves as a wine judge for Wine 100 and she is the exclusive Wine Consultant for China Eastern Airlines. Further certifications include Certified Sommelier from CMS, Credited Bordeaux Educator, Certified WSET Educator as well as being a WSET Diploma holder.
Prior to joining TWE, Emilie and her team trained tens of thousands of wine enthusiasts through nationwide trainings for government trade organizations and multinational distributors. She has created and implemented successful national training programs for numerous hotel groups focused on raising service standards and product knowledge across frontline staff. She has worked with some of the biggest wine and water brands to create specific brand training across China and spearheaded WSET APP programs to provide beverage qualifications of the highest industry standard.
