Entering China without Google.com? Below is the list of top search engines that will make your life easier in China.

In China, the search engine market has maintained a stable growth and a large part of its population depends on the internet as a source for information. Here, there are more than 688 million users of the Internet and an increase of 44 million users has been seen year-over-year. As google.com is blocked in China, there are several other local search engines that took its place.

1) Baidu

Baidu is considered as the number one search engine in China. It was found in 2000 by Robin Li and is considered as the most useful search engine if you want to improve your SEO. 72% of internet users in China prefer Baidu as it has a better understanding of the Chinese market. Baidu has 76.05% market share in China's search engine market and has ranked as the third most used search engine in the whole world.

2) Sogou

Sogou was launched in 2004. It is considered as the next market leader after Baidu. It has over 400 million users and has gained a worldwide reputation for its well-organized product that features on its web application. It is very affordable when it comes to pay-per-click advertising. 90% of the company's revenues come from search advertising

3) SO.com

SO.com is a search engine launched by Qihoo 360 Technology Co. Ltd., a Chinese internet security company. It was found in 2005 by Zhou Hongyi and Qi Xiangdong. In a short span of time, Qihoo 360's security products became popular and gained a huge market share in China. It can block fake sites and provide a more secure search engine.

4) Youdao

Youdao is a search engine launched in 2007 by NetEase, a Chinese internet company. It is not only the search engine product but also has a large-scale data storage. It allows users to easily search for web pages, images, blogs, news as well as Chinese to English entries in the dictionary. In 2012, it launched Hui Hui, a shopping Assistant that allows users to compare items and price online. It has more than 30 million users.

5) Shenma

Shenma is the first mobile search engine in China which was started in April 2014. In 2017 gained  8.8% of the China search engine market share. It is a joint venture by Alibaba group & UCWeb.

6) Google.cn | Google Hong Kong | Google Taiwan

Google is the most used search engine worldwide. Google.cn | Google Hong Kong | Google Taiwan are all subsidiaries of Google. They are the simplified and traditional Chinese versions which help users to search the subject which is not censored by the Great Firewall of China.

7) Easou

Easou was established in 2005. It is a search engine for mobile phone devices. It utilizes & integrates new technologies including natural language processing, artificial intelligence, data mining, information extraction & distributed computation. Yi Dian Tong, a smart marketing platform launched by Easou provides low-cost marketing and advertising services for more than 46 million medium- and small-sized firms in China.

8) China.so

China.so is a search engine launched in 2010 by a Chinese news agency Xinhua. It helps users to search different articles of the major magazines & newspapers of the country. China.so is widely used to watch news, images, maps, videos. It also features more than 16 channels that range from sports, media, news, economy, etc.

9) Bing China | Bing Taiwan

Bing is a search engine which is operated by Microsoft. It is yet another simplified & traditional Chinese version which offers various services including video, map search, images, etc which are not censored by the Great Firewall of China.

10) Yahoo Search | Yahoo Hong Kong | Yahoo Taiwan

Yahoo is a search engine which offers simplified & traditional Chinese scripts for users in China. It is another great search engine which provides blog reading features, search announcements, news & its basic search capabilities.

11) Yandex Search

Yandex is a search engine developed by a Russian company. It has gained 60% of the market share in Russia and as China is a nation close to Russia, its netizens also enjoy the benefits of this search engine. Yandex provide features which help to recognize the most current information like breaking news, recent posts on Twitter, etc.

12) Ecosia

Ecosia is a search engine based in Germany. The only difference is that they use their profits to plant trees. The users in China also get a chance to help the environment along with the web search by using Ecosia.

13) Wolfram|Alpha

Wolfram released in 2009, is a computational knowledge search engine which provides answers based on factual queries directly by computing the answer. It also provides access to different data and facts on subjects including science.

14) Lycos

Lycos is a search engine that surrounds a network of email, social networking, web hosting & entertainment websites. It was launched in 1994 as a multinational solution for different countries.

15) Findouter China

Findouter China is a search engine which provides information about everything related to China. It is a user-friendly search engine.

16) ODP.org

Open Directory Project is a multilingual directory of World Wide Web links. It was constructed & maintained by a community of volunteers.

17) Uncover China

Uncover China is a search engine which enables users to categorized links to different websites operating in Shanghai. It is the directory of business & services in China.

18) Zhongsou
